Real Madrid have Trent Alexander-Arnold as priority target
Real Madrid have identified Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold as a top priority ahead of the January transfer window.
The England international has been an exceptional performer for the Merseyside giants and he has started fantastically under new manager Arne Slot .
Despite this, there has been no progress over a contract extension beyond June 2025. He is free to discuss pre-contract terms with foreign clubs from January.
The Athletic now report that Los Blancos are keen on landing the signature of the 26-year-old and they are ready to open talks with him at the turn of the year.
Alexander-Arnold has been non-committal over his future in recent weeks and Liverpool fear they could lose him on a free transfer when the season concludes.
It will be interesting to see whether Madrid attempt to land Alexander-Arnold in January with Dani Carvajal out with a serious knee injury.
Aside from a new right-back, Los Blancos are eyeing another central defender. They have been linked with Arsenal 's William Saliba .
