'A no-brainer': 26yo defender speaks on joining Chelsea
Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo has said that he was fully focused on joining the club after they were interested in signing him.
The 26-year-old was a key player at
Fulham for several seasons, but he decided to pursue a bigger challenge with
Chelsea after his contract expired on June 30.
Newcastle United were initially touted as favourites to sign the Manchester City graduate, but the scenario completely changed after Chelsea entered the race.
Adarabioyo has now revealed that it was a 'no-brainer' decision for him after hearing of the amazing project at the west London giants.
He said: "Once I knew Chelsea were interested, I was fully focused on that. When it came down to it, to hear the project that's going on here, it's amazing.
"It’s an amazing project, an amazing club, so for me it was a no-brainer."
Adarabioyo was a regular starter in the heart of Fulham 's defence, but he will have to fight for a starting berth at Chelsea next season.
The centre-back is set to face competition from Wesley Fofana , Benoit Badiashile , Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill for a starting spot.
