'You have to make decisions': Chelsea manager explains why Mudryk didn't play
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has said that he has a difficult task of picking his team for the Premier League.
The Blues suffered a 2-0 loss to Manchester City in the first matchday of the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Mykhailo Mudryk started on the bench and he remained an unused substitute over the course of 90 minutes.
When asked about the attacker's absence, Maresca said that he has to make difficult decisions and Mudryk was unfortunate to miss out.
He said: "It has been difficult to pick the starting 11 because there’s players on the bench who deserve to play such as Misha, but you have to make decisions."
Chelsea have spent more than £200 million on new signings and they are expected to recoup some funds before the deadline.
Mudryk is unlikely to be offloaded, but the likes of Raheem Sterling , Romelu Lukaku and Ben Chilwell are set to leave.
The Blues will face Servette in the first leg of the Conference League play-off on Thursday before visiting Wolves next weekend.
