The Sweden international was in sensational form for Sporting last term with 43 goals and 15 assists in all competitions.

He has started the same way in the 2024/25 campaign with six goals and three assists from his opening four appearances.

Speaking after the 5-0 win over Farense where he scored a hat-trick, Gyokeres refused to rule out a late summer exit.

He said: "We never know what's going to happen. It doesn't just depend on me. We'll see, but I feel good here.

"In football, in the transfer window , it's normal, there are things we don't know, that happen quickly."

Gyokeres is a top target for Arsenal and Chelsea , but neither of those clubs have opened negotiations with the Portuguese giants.

Sporting are holding out for the striker's €100m release clause but they are prepared to accept a long-term payment plan for him.

The Primeira Liga champions are on the look out for a replacement knowing that Gyokeres could still leave before the deadline.
