Arsenal make opening bid to sign 23yo Spaniard
Arsenal have made an opening bid to sign goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol before tomorrow's deadline, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners recently sanctioned the sale of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton and they are now eyeing a suitable replacement.
Garcia has agreed terms with the club for some time and Romano reports that the London giants have offered to pay €20 million for his services.
However, Espanyol are reluctant to accept less than his €30m release clause and talks are expected to continue to find a suitable agreement.
Garcia is a strong ball-playing goalkeeper who has also impressed with his reflexes. He was brilliant against Atletico last night with seven saves.
The 23-year-old ace also made nine recoveries while delivering nine long balls. He looks a bright talent and would be a fantastic acquisition.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can persuade Espanyol to lower the price. Otherwise, the club could end up paying the release clause.
