Man Utd confirm £51m transfer deal on deadline day
Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte on a long-term contract.
The Uruguay international emerged as United's top midfield target earlier this summer and they eventually secured a transfer agreement for £51 million.
The 23-year-old underwent his medical with the club on Wednesday, but the transfer was delayed until deadline day due to some paperwork.
Ugarte told the club's official website: "It is an incredible feeling to join a club of this magnitude; one that is admired all around the world."
The midfielder will be unveiled to the fans at Old Trafford ahead of the Premier League encounter against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
However, he won't make the matchday squad for the game, considering he was not registered before the midday deadline earlier on Friday.
Ugarte's arrival is a huge boost for the Red Devils, considering they have struggled with Casemiro's inconsistency from the no.6 position.
The Red Devils are unlikely to make any more signings tonight.
