Arsenal eyeing January swoop for Ligue 1 striker
Arsenal could make a surprise move to sign Canadian striker Jonathan David from Lille this winter, according to Caught Offside.
The Gunners were fancied to sign a new striker this summer, but they did not recruit anyone to bolster the centre-forward department.
Benjamin Sesko was a top target for the London giants, but the Slovenian star ended up penning a new long-term deal with Leipzig.
It is now reported that Arsenal could swoop for a new striker in January instead of waiting for the end of the campaign.
Leipzig have no plans of parting ways with Sesko and it is claimed that Arsenal could look to land David for a cut-price fee instead.
David netted an impressive 26 goals for Lille last term. He has continued the new season in good fashion with the French outfit.
His current deal expires at the end of the campaign and Lille could be forced to sell him on the cheap at the turn of the year.
