Arsenal to sign new centre-back after Gabriel injury blow?
Arsenal could enter the transfer market for a new centre-back following the injury blow for Gabriel Magalhaes, according to Football Insider.
The Brazil international suffered a knock to his knee against
Liverpool yesterday. He was substituted in the 54th minute as he could not run.
Magalhaes was spotted with ice on his knee towards the end of the game and reports claim that the club are monitoring his injury condition.
Amidst this, Football Insider report that the centre-back may have picked up a possible knee issue and could be sidelined for some period of time.
It is added that the club are definitely expected to enter the transfer market for a new central defender when the transfer window reopens this winter.
Riccardo Calafiori , Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu are among other centre-backs sidelined. However, Timber could be available by next weekend.
The Dutchman was reportedly suffering from cramp after his long injury layoff and he should be available to face Newcastle on the road.
