Man Utd confirm new manager to replace Ten Hag
Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of Ruben Amorim as their new manager.
The Red Devils parted ways with
Erik ten Hag earlier on Monday following a fourth defeat of the Premier League season.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was placed on temporary charge, but it was widely known that talks were underway with Amorim.
United have now reached a formal agreement with Sporting for the 39-year-old and he will join the club in the near future.
Amorim will be managing Sporting until the next international break before formally parting ways to join the Red Devils.
The Portuguese is expected to make his managerial debut for United when they face Ipswich Town on the road on November 24.
United have gone for one of the best young managers in European football. They have handed him an initial three-year deal.
Amorim is also expected to be backed with funds to invest next year. He could target one of his players at Sporting Lisbon.
