'He was very good': Ruben Amorim can't hide praise for 22yo United star
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim was delighted with the contribution of Amad Diallo against Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Amorim made his managerial debut for the Red Devils at Portman Road. The club scored after just 80 seconds on the clock. Diallo delivered a perfect cross for
Marcus Rashford to find the back of the net.
However, they were unable to capitalise on the early momentum. Ipswich grew in confidence as the game went on and scored the equaliser from a stellar Omari Hutchinson strike in the 43rd minute.
The Tractor Boys could have easily won the game and they were unlucky as Andre Onana was brilliant between the sticks with several important saves for the Red Devils.
Speaking after the encounter, Amorim was pleased with the output from Diallo, who operated from an unfamiliar right wing-back position.
Amorim said: "He was very good. In three days, he improved so much defensively. He was facing the left-back, he just had to follow him. He was so focused. He did a very good job."
United remain in 12th after the stalemate. They have lost more ground on the top four. They are six points behind Chelsea and Arsenal , who are third and fourth in the top-flight standings.
