Forgotten Arsenal star back in UCL squad to face Sporting CP
Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has returned to the squad ahead of the Champions League encounter against Sporting Lisbon on the road.
The Scotland international spent the previous campaign on loan with Real Sociedad and he was fancied to leave the Gunners in the summer.
However, a transfer did not materialise for him. He picked up a hamstring injury at Euro 2024 which damaged his prospects of choosing another club.
The left-back has now fully recovered from his injury and reports claim that he has travelled with the team for the upcoming encounter at Sporting CP.
Tierney is unlikely to make the starting XI for the game, but he could be involved in some capacity off the bench if manager Mikel Arteta requires him.
Arsenal could hand some minutes to the former Celtic man such that he is in good shape ahead of a potential exit at the turn of the calendar year.
Celtic are open to re-signing him on loan with a buy option.
