Chelsea to miss out on striker to Atletico Madrid?
Chelsea could miss out on signing Montpellier striker Elye Wahi amid interest from Atletico Madrid.
The Blues have already spoken with the French outfit for the 20-year-old, and they are ready to pay €32m for his services.
However, there is currently a roadblock in agreeing personal terms.
Chelsea are planning to loan him out to Strasbourg next season, but Wahi does not believe this would be beneficial for him.
Hence, he has stalled over discussing a contract. This could now benefit Atletico, who have opened talks with his agent.
The La Liga giants are currently in the process of recouping funds from sales, and they could invest in the coming weeks.
Diego Simeone is said to be an admirer of Wahi, and could guarantee him with regular first-team minutes at the club next term.
As things stand, Atletico could have the upper hand over Chelsea in the pursuit unless the Blues change their plans for the striker.
