Arsenal confirm defender sale to Premier League club
Arsenal have confirmed the departure of defender Auston Trusty to Sheffield United on a permanent deal.
The USA international joined the Gunners from Colorado Rapids last summer for £1.5 million. He was immediately loaned out to Birmingham City.
The centre-back made a big impression during his time in the west Midlands. His performances saw him voted as the club's Player of the Year.
The Gunners have now announced his move to Sheffield on a permanent basis. They have sold him for a fee of around £5 million plus add-ons.
Trusty has been handed the number five shirt at the Blades, and he will be hoping to help them avoid relegation from the top-flight next season.
Aside from Trusty, the Gunners are also preparing to part ways with the likes of Nicolas Pepe , Rob Holding , Cedric Soares and Folarin Balogun .
The Gunners have a clear mindset on offloading Balogun for the right price despite Gabriel Jesus undergoing a knee surgery earlier this week.
