Nottingham Forest make opening offer for Arsenal star
Nottingham Forest have made an opening bid to sign goalkeeper Matt Turner from Arsenal on a permanent basis.
The USA international joined the Gunners from New England Revolution for £5m last summer, and he played second fiddle to
Aaron Ramsdale
.
He did not make a single Premier League appearance for the Gunners, but could do so with Forest, who are prepared to make him their number one.
Steve Cooper's side have made an opening offer to sign the talented shot-stopper, and it is anticipated that a transfer could be finalised very soon.
Arsenal currently value Turner in the region of £18 million, but Forest are optimistic of signing him for around £12m up front plus bonuses.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are already in advanced negotiations with Brentford for the purchase of Spanish goalkeeper David Raya this month.
Their opening offer of around £23m is set to be turned down, but the club are growing confident of landing his signature. Brentford could accept £30m.
