Liverpool set to battle Chelsea for Moises Caicedo
Liverpool are set to compete with Chelsea for the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo this summer.
The Ecuador international has already agreed personal terms with the Blues, but they are yet to finalise a suitable fee with the Seagulls.
Brighton have set a price tag of £100m for the midfielder, but the Blues are reluctant to pay more than £80m at the current point.
It is now reported that the Reds have joined the pursuit of the 21-year-old and they have opened discussions with his entourage.
If they receive any encouragement from the player, the club are prepared to lodge an offer of their own for his services soon.
Brighton want to end the transfer saga as soon as possible, and they seem prepared to offload Caicedo for the highest transfer fee.
The Seagulls are unlikely to accept the Blues' latest offer on the table, but an improved bid of £90m could seriously test their resolve.
