Arsenal suffer huge injury blow with defender out for months
Arsenal have suffered a huge injury blow with Jurrien Timber out of action for several months, according to The Athletic.
The Netherlands international was in fine form for the Gunners in pre-season, and he looked efficient on his Premier League debut.
However, he picked up a knee injury midway through the game and he was replaced by Takehiro Tomiyasu at left-back in the second half.
It is now reported that the injury is much serious than initially predicted and he could be sidelined for most of the current campaign.
The news is a huge blow for the Gunners, considering how quickly Timber has adapted to the manager's tactics since his summer arrival.
In his long-term absence, the club are likely to pursue a replacement in the transfer market. It could be on a loan deal with a buy option.
There are no clear-cut targets at the moment, but there are suggestions that Kyle Walker -Peters could be considered by the London giants.
