Chelsea lining up January move for Bundesliga striker
Chelsea could make a surprise approach to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko when the transfer window reopens in January.
The west London giants signed Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku to strengthen their frontline this summer, but it has not worked out for them.
Nkuku sustained a serious knee injury in pre-season itself while Jackson has barely impressed in the first four games of the campaign.
This has led to doubts whether the Blues can compete for the top four, and reports claim that a new striker could be signed in January.
Sesko is one of the names on the club's wishlist and it remains to be seen whether they can convince Leipzig into parting ways with him.
The Slovenian formally joined Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg this season, and he has already netted two goals in the German top tier.
Leipzig consider him as a key part of their plans for the future and it may take a significant transfer bid for Chelsea to secure his services.
