Chelsea in constant talks to sign English striker?
Chelsea are in constant talks with the entourage of Brentford striker Ivan Toney over a January transfer.
The Englishman was tremendous for the Bees in the previous campaign. He scored 20 Premier League goals.
However, his season ended in disappointment as he was banned for eight months due to betting breaches.
Toney is not allowed to play again until mid-January, but talks are ongoing with clubs over a potential exit.
Chelsea are one of his main admirers and reports claim that they have been regularly speaking with his camp.
Brentford are aware that Toney could leave the club in January, but they are unlikely to sell him on the cheap.
The west London giants plan to hold out for at least £80m to part ways with the 27-year-old in the New Year.
Arsenal have also been linked with the experienced marksman, but they are unlikely to make such an outlay.
Mikel Arteta seems happy with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah as his options for the centre-forward role.
