French star says he had doubts over Man Utd move
Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo has said that he had doubts over joining Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils were linked with the Frenchman in the final days of the transfer window and it was claimed that they could make a late approach.
However, an offer was never made. United were planning to offload Harry Maguire to recoup funds, but the Englishman decided to stay.
In an interview with L'Equipe, Todibo has now revealed that he did not want to step into the unknown amid interest from the Red Devils.
He said: "I know what I have at Nice. Why go into the unknown? So, everything must be clear. My first transfer, I was 18 years old. The thinking was not as thorough."
United did not make an offer for Todibo, but it seems the Frenchman would have turned them down due to the lack of guaranteed playing time.
The centre-back recently made his long-awaited debut for his country, and he could lose his spot in the squad if his minutes are reduced at club level.
