Mikel Arteta confirms fresh Arsenal injury blow vs Everton
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Gabriel Martinelli was substituted against Everton with a minor hamstring injury.
The Brazilian started against the Toffees at Goodison Park and found the back of the net in the opening half. However, his goal was chalked off by VAR as Eddie Nketiah was offside in the lead-up.
Just moments later, Martinelli was substituted with a hamstring issue. Speaking after the 1-0 win, Arteta said: "He felt something on one of the sprints, in his hammy. He will need to be assessed."
Arsenal have had a superb start to the Premier League campaign and they have accumulated 13 points from a possible 15 at their disposal.
They are currently only two points behind Manchester City, and need to keep the form going to pile the pressure on the reigning champions.
Arsenal will be in Champions League action against PSV in midweek. The club are back in the elite club competition after a six-year wait.
