Chelsea confident of signing striker in £60m deal
Chelsea are reportedly confident of signing Brentford striker Ivan Toney in a deal worth £60 million in January.
The west London giants invested on Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku to bolster their strikeforce over the summer.
Nkunku has not played a single game after a serious knee injury and he may not return to action until mid-January.
Meanwhile, Jackson has been a huge disappointment leading the line. He has netted just one goal from six matches.
The Senegal star has been guilty of missing several clear-cut chances and he has also been booked on four occasions.
It is now reported by talkSPORT that the Blues are confident of landing Toney following his ongoing eight-month ban.
Toney has been suspended by FA due to betting breaches and he is not allowed to play again until mid-January.
The striker has been permitted to train with Brentford this week onwards and should be fully fit before the New Year.
Chelsea appear confident of paying the £60m asking price to sign him in January ahead of rivals such as Arsenal .
