Man City to beat Man Utd to Brighton star?
Manchester City are reportedly leading Manchester United in the race to sign Brighton & Hove Albion star Kaoru Mitoma.
The Japanese star has been in fantastic form for the Seagulls since becoming a consistent starter at the beginning of this year.
He was one of the best performing wingers in the Premier League last term and has carried his form into the new campaign.
Mitoma has three goals and three assists in the top-flight and it appears he could now be the subject of a bidding battle.
Fichajes claim that City and United are keen on landing the 26-year-old and the former have a head start in the transfer pursuit.
The Cityzens are a more lucrative destination with their huge trophy count in the past few years compared to the Red Devils.
Still, it is unclear whether Brighton will consider parting ways with the Japanese star when the transfer window reopens.
They are currently in talks to extend his current contract. If he were to push for a move, they could delay it until the summer.
