Chelsea defender Thiago Silva speaks on his future
Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has refused to rule out a return to Fluminense before the end of his playing career.
The 39-year-old has been contracted to the Blues since the summer of 2020. He has ever-present in their starting line-up when fit.
The centre-back's current deal expires at the end of the season and he has refused to rule out a return to his homeland next year.
He told TNT Sports: "This is a long-standing relationship, right? But I’d rather keep quiet now. I have a family, I have children. So we have to think about that too. It’s about seeing where to finish off this beautiful career."
Silva has been a mainstay in the Blues defence despite his age. The Brazilian has barely made a mistake for the club over the last three years.
Despite this, the Blues could think about the future and we won't be surprised if Silva ends his association with the London giants next summer.
Fluminense were interested in signing him earlier this year and could make a fresh proposal. Silva previously played 143 times for them.
