Man Utd ready to trigger contract extension for defender
Manchester United are ready to trigger the one-year contract extension in the contract of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Daily Mail.
The right-back was completely out-of-favour under Erik ten Hag during the first half of last season, but he redeemed himself this year.
With Diogo Dalot 's injury, Wan-Bissaka got a regular run of games and he became the number one choice for the back end of the campaign.
Despite this, Wan-Bissaka has yet to commit to a new long-term contract and as a result, United are planning to trigger his extension clause.
Wan-Bissaka's current deal expires at the end of the current campaign, but United are set to activate the option to keep him until June 2025.
United will be hoping that the extended contract length will allow them sufficient time to convince him to prolong his stay at the club.
Wan-Bissaka recently returned from a hamstring injury and he could make the starting XI against Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
