Even if he becomes fit to return, Ghana could call him up for the African Cup of Nations alongside Egyptian star Mohamed Elneny .

Hence, Arsenal are looking for a replacement at the turn of the year and this will pause their plans to sign a new centre-forward in January.

The club are still lacking the presence of a regular goalgetter but may have to wait until the summer to sign a marquee number nine.
