The Toffees were recently handed a 10-point deduction for breaching Premier League sustainability rules. They face further trouble with Burnley , Leeds United and Leicester City planning to sue them.

The Clarets were relegated during the 2021/22 campaign when the Toffees were being investigated. Leeds and Leicester dropped out of the top-flight last season while the Toffees just avoided the drop.

All three clubs plan to demand as much as £100 million each. Even if the final value is lowered, Everton may need to pay a substantial figure. As a result, it is claimed that there could be quickfire sales in January.

Onana is one of those that could head for the exit door alongside Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert -Lewin. Onana could be available for a fee of around £40-50 million at the turn of the year.

United have been long-term admirers of the former Lille man and they could consider him as a replacement for the ageing Casemiro. The club could lodge a fresh approach in early January.
