Erik ten Hag confirms €40m signing could leave Man Utd
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that midfielder Donny van Beek could pursue a new challenge in the New Year.
The Netherlands international is currently in his fourth season with the Red Devils, but he has made only 62 appearances across all competitions.
This season, he has played only 28 minutes thus far and he recently admitted that it could be time to move on from the Premier League giants.
Speaking in yesterday's press conference, Ten Hag acknowledged that Van de Beek has not got the regular playing time and could leave the club.
He said: "I think Donny has to play. In games he was in the squad, so then he had the opportunity, but it was a slow start in the season because he still recovered from physical setbacks."
"But now he is back and is doing well in the training so, if we can't give him perspective, I can see that he has to play, for his career, for everything."
Van de Beek was on the radar of several Turkish clubs last summer. Galatasaray are among his admirers and they could return for him in January.
The Dutchman has also been linked with a reunion with Ajax. United will have to accept a huge loss on the €40m paid for him in the summer of 2020.
