Erik ten Hag talks about January decision on Anthony Martial
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has hinted that he would like to keep Anthony Martial for the rest of the campaign.
The Frenchman is currently in his ninth season with the Red Devils, and this could his final one with the club reluctant to extend his stay.
His deal expires at the end of June next year and the decision has been made to not trigger the 12-month extension clause in his contract.
This has led to speculation that he could be sold this winter, but Ten Hag has hinted that he would prefer to keep him for the season.
He said: "When we have news, then of course I will tell it. But that is not our aim."
United returned to winning ways yesterday. They secured a tremendous 3-2 comeback win, having trailed by two goals at the interval.
Martial was unavailable for the match due to illness. He has been out for a while which suggests that the club are preparing for his departure.
