FIFA approve transfers of West Ham United duo
FIFA have approved the transfers of West Ham United duo Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals to Lyon and Real Betis respectively.
Benrahma and Fornals underwent their medical tests at their new clubs yesterday, but the deals were not made official before the transfer deadline.
Both teams blamed the Hammers for administrative errors, but FIFA have now confirmed that all the paperwork was submitted.
Fornals has joined Betis on a permanent basis after falling out-of-favour while Benrahma has signed for struggling Lyon on an initial loan.
The Ligue 1 outfit have the option to purchase him in the summer. They are expected to trigger the clause so long as they are not relegated.
The Hammers have weakened their squad with the exits of the duo. David Moyes will want to prove the decision right in the coming months.
The club are currently sixth in the standings. If they fail to qualify for Europe next term, there could be questions raised over Moyes' future.
