Liverpool enter race to sign Bundesliga centre-back
Liverpool have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Willian Pacho during the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old signed for the German outfit from Royal Antwerp last summer, and he has been an assured starter in their backline.
The Ecuadorian has caught the eye with his tackling, recoveries and ability to clear his lines. He has also impressed with his concentration.
The left-footed star is anticipated to leave the club in the summer and Florian Plettenberg reports that the Reds are keen on landing him.
However, he is unlikely to come on the cheap for the Carabao Cup holders with Eintracht set to demand at least €60 million for his exit.
The Reds currently have Virgil van Dijk as a guaranteed starter from the left centre-back role, but they could be looking into the future.
Pacho could be signed to develop as an understudy before replacing the Dutch star in the long-term as a permanent starter for the club.
