Arsenal defender reacts after signing new contract
Arsenal defender Ben White has revealed his delight after signing a new long-term contract at the club.
The England international has been in superb form from right-back this season and he has made several goal contributions this year.
A new contract has been in the pipeline for a number of weeks and he has now put pen-to-paper on a fresh long-term deal with Arsenal .
Following his extension, he was delighted by the decision to continue his long journey, he said: "I'm so happy – it's been a long journey, and amazing to sign again and be here for more years."
"I've said before I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, so it's perfect. When you're in that office, it's a little more daunting but it's amazing to sign again and have the same feelings of pride. It's a really good achievement."
White was expected to be recalled by England manager Gareth Southgate , but he apparently asked to be omitted from the upcoming games.
This is probably good news for the Gunners. White has the chance to recuperate for the next week before returning to team training.
Arsenal are currently top of the table with 64 points on the board. They face a testing challenge against Manchester City on the road after the break.
