Man Utd handed boost in signing top defensive target
Manchester United have been handed a huge boost with Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong eyeing a move to the Premier League.
Frimpong has been in sensational form from the right wing-back role this term, registering 12 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.
United have followed him for quite some time and it has recently been reported that they are ready to trigger his €40 million release clause.
Ben Jacobs has now handed a boost to United by reporting that Frimpong is eager to make the switch to England at the end of the campaign.
Frimpong was in the Manchester City academy for eight years as a youngster before he made the move to Scotland with Celtic in 2019.
After two seasons, he decided to pursue a new challenge with Leverkusen where he has developed into one of the best full-backs in the world.
Frimpong has largely played as a wing-back in the last two years, but he is also comfortable operating from the right-back position too.
