Arsenal target has £100m release clause in contract
Arsenal target Bruno Guimaraes has a £100 million release clause in his Newcastle United contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Brazilian has been with the Magpies since early 2022, but his future could be uncertain with the club beyond the current campaign.
The Magpies have underperformed compared to their fourth-placed finish last term. They are currently ranked seventh in the league table.
Champions League football is no longer a possibility and it is left to be seen whether they can qualify for any other European competition.
Amidst this, it has been disclosed that Guimaraes has a £100m release clause in his deal. It will be active between May 27 and June 24.
Arsenal are reportedly one of his main admirers. They were previously interested in signing him from Lyon before the Magpies swooped for him.
Guimaraes is open to joining a club with a strong Brazilian connection and Arsenal could be favourites to land him, provided the price is met.
