Chelsea set to appoint Enzo Maresca as new manager
Chelsea are set to appoint Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca as their new head coach, according to The Athletic.
The Blues have been on the search for a new manager after Mauricio Pochettino mutually parted ways with them.
They had shortlisted several options over the past week and have finally come to the conclusion of signing Maresca.
The Blues have now received permission from the Foxes to speak with the Italian and a deal could be agreed very soon.
The west London giants are prepared to hand a five-year contract to the 44-year-old and won't judge him after a season.
Maresca is said to be happy with the proposal from the Blues and we could see an announcement from the clubs tomorrow.
Chelsea will need to pay a compensation fee of around £10m for Maresca after the Foxes' promotion to the Premier League.
The Blues were previously interested in appointing Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna before settling on Maresca as the top target.
