Man Utd handed blow in signing Jean-Clair Todibo
Manchester United have been handed a huge blow in signing Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils have held a long-term interest in Todibo and they were determined to sign him at the start of last season.
A transfer did not materialise due to Harry Maguire 's decision to stay put. United did not have the funds to afford his signature.
It is now revealed that United can not sign Todibo from the French outfit following the minority takeover from Sir Jim Ratcliffe .
Both United and Nice have qualified for the Europa League next term and this is expected to hinder the club's chances of landing him.
Aside from this, UEFA rules also don't allow player deals between clubs of the same ownership during the first transfer window after a takeover.
United are also set to miss out on signing Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram for the same reason which is a huge blow.
