Chelsea to complete signing of Spanish striker
Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Barcelona striker Marc Guiu on a long-term deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues currently have
Nicolas Jackson and
Christopher Nkunku as their centre-forward options, but they are eyeing more quality.
Instead of signing an established figure, the hierarchy prefer a young talent with potent and they are now on the verge of landing one.
Romano today confirms that a verbal agreement is in place with 18-year-old Guiu and he is expected to join the Blues in the coming days.
Chelsea have informed Barcelona of their decision to trigger his €6m release clause and he is due to undergo his medical this week.
It remains to be seen whether the club will pursue another striker after Guiu. The Blues have been linked with Lille's Jonathan David too.
They have already enquired over his asking price to the French outfit, but face competition from the likes of West Ham and Manchester United.
