Man Utd have joined race to sign Girona defender
Manchester United have joined the race with Bologna to sign Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez, according to AS.
The Red Devils are interested in signing a new left-back this summer with the injuries sustained by Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia last term.
Shaw made only 15 appearances amid three separate setbacks while Malacia missed the entirety of the campaign with a serious knee issue.
The former has returned to training with England, but United have already made the decision to pursue another talented left-back.
Gutierrez has been identified as one of the top targets for the club, but AS claim that their plans could be scuppered by Real Madrid.
Madrid have the option to buy him back on the cheap. Carlo Ancelotti 's side could decide to keep him instead of selling for a profit.
The European champions want to land Alphonso Davies from Bayern, but the German outfit are reluctant to lose him for now.
If there is no agreement for the Canadian star, it could open the door for Gutierrez to become a part of the club's plans.
