Corriere dello Sport now claim that the club are in advanced negotiations with Bologna and have pulled clear of the likes of Chelsea and Leverkusen.

A package worth €50m has been discussed between the clubs and talks are now underway over the payment terms and inclusion of add-ons.

Calafiori looks set to become Arsenal 's second signing of the summer after David Raya was signed on a permanent basis from Brentford after his loan stint.

The Gunners are preparing for a busy summer transfer window and there could be plenty of more signings between now and the transfer deadline on August 30.

Arsenal are eyeing a marquee striker, central midfielder and a wide player. A goalkeeper could also be signed if Aaron Ramsdale heads for the exit door.
