'I already had my suitcase ready': 23yo star confirms Liverpool transfer interest
Pumas forward Cesar Huerta has admitted that he would have jumped at the opportunity of joining Liverpool during the recent transfer window.
The Merseyside giants were in discussions with Pumas for the Mexican and there were claims that an agreement was close to completion.
However, the Reds eventually decided against a formal offer. The winger was left disappointed by the same, but he is waiting for his opportunity.
He told reporters this week: "I already had my suitcase ready, and I dropped it. I know that sooner or later, if I keep doing things right, I'll get the opportunity.
"It's a train that only happens once and I'm focused on Pumas. I come to the national team, and I try to do my best to help my team. I know the rest will come soon."
The 23-year-old has the ability to play anywhere in the frontline and it may not be long before a top Premier League club makes a move for him.
The Reds scouted him on a number of occasions earlier this year. A positive report was sent back to the hierarchy, but a transfer did not materialise.
Huerta will be aiming to keep up his performances in the current campaign so that he can eventually achieve his big dream of playing in Europe.
