Nottingham Forest make opening bid for Arsenal striker
Nottingham Forest have made an opening bid to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, according to David Ornstein.
The 25-year-old agreed personal terms with Marseille earlier this summer, but the French outfit failed to secure a deal with the Gunners.
Bournemouth were linked shortly after, but they decided to cool their interest after opting to sign Evanilson from Porto instead.
It is now reported that Forest have made an offer of £25m plus add-ons for the Gunners graduate, but it has been swiftly rejected.
Arsenal are eyeing at least £30m up front for the Englishman and talks are currently ongoing between the clubs for a solution.
Nketiah has emerged as Forest's prime striker target with Feyenoord prizing them out of a move for Santiago Gimenez this month.
Nketiah is said to be open to pursuing a new challenge away from the Gunners, considering he is a fringe player as of now.
His departure could encourage Arsenal to bring in another forward.
