The Nigerian star was heavily linked with the Blues last week, but they could not convince him into a late deadline day move.

The Blues were prepared to sign him on an initial loan, but the hierarchy were reluctant to meet his current wages of €10m per year.

They wanted Osimhen to accept a 30 percent pay-cut to join them. The striker was reluctant to do so despite Chelsea 's best efforts.

Osimhen has now accepted a straight-loan to Galatasaray, but the deal will include a break clause at the beginning of 2025.

The Turkish champions have agreed to pay 100 percent of his salary.

Prior to the move, Napoli are also expected to lower his current release clause from €130 million to around €75 million.

Osimhen is keen to impress for Galatasaray for the rest of the year such that he can attract high-profile interest in January.

There is a possibility that Chelsea could also return for his services.
