Chelsea planning surprise swoop for former defender
Chelsea are reportedly planning a surprise swoop for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi next year.
The Blues have spent plenty on their defence over the past two years, but they are aiming to add more quality.
Guehi has made huge progress since leaving the club and he was heavily linked with Newcastle United this summer.
The Magpies made four separate bids for the central defender, but none of them met the reported £70m asking price.
Guehi did not try and force through an exit. TBR football now claim that the Blues could reunite with the 24-year-old.
Unlike other clubs, Chelsea can afford to sign him for much less, considering they have a 20 percent sell-on clause.
The Blues could prise him away for around £56m. The club are likely to consider an approach at the end of the campaign.
Palace have no plans of parting ways with Guehi in January and his future will only be decided when the season concludes.
