Mikel Arteta confirms injury boost for Arsenal forward
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Gabriel Jesus has returned to first-team training following his groin injury.
The Brazil international suffered the setback after one game into the season and he subsequently missed the next two matches.
Jesus has been working on his fitness during the international break and he was involved with the first-team group earlier today.
Speaking in his press conference, Arteta confirmed that Jesus is ready to play again and will be assessed after the final training session.
Arsenal are already playing catch-up to Manchester City at the top of the table. They are two points adrift of the Cityzens.
The club face a testing challenge against Spurs on the road on Sunday, considering the injury and suspension woes.
Declan Rice is suspended for the derby while Mikel Merino is injured. Martin Odegaard remains a huge doubt as well.
The manager could be forced to work with a new-look midfield. He could play Thomas Partey , Jorginho and Kai Havertz together.
