Anthony Martial finally joins new club after Man Utd exit
Anthony Martial has joined AEK Athens on a free transfer following his departure from Manchester United.
The France international was with the Red Devils for the past nine years, but the club decided to part ways with him.
They had the option of keeping him for another 12 months, but United's board opted against the extension clause.
Martial was the subject of interest from several clubs in Europe, and he has now chosen to join Greek giants AEK.
The club were initially interested in landing Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana, but a transfer deal did not suit them.
The Blues rejected a loan with an option to buy which forced AEK into looking at alternative options for their attack.
Martial has now joined the club for a record salary of around £3m per year and he has the chance to revive his career.
The Monaco graduate had a tough end to his United career. He was largely sidelined for the last one year with injuries.
