Viktor Gyokeres breaks silence on Man Utd talk
Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres has refused to rule out a potential move to the Premier League with Manchester United.
The Sweden international is one of the most-sought after strikers in Europe and he has already netted 16 goals from 20 games this term.
He bagged a quadruple in the recent fixture against Estrela and speaking after the win, he refused to rule out a reunion with Amorim.
He said: "I don’t know. I’m here. As you can see, I enjoy it at Sporting. It’s nothing I really think about. I’m sad about him [Amorim] leaving. We wish him all the best."
United are unlikely to spend big during the January transfer window due to PSR issues and they could go on a spending spree next summer.
Gyokeres is also unlikely to leave Sporting midway through the season and any deal could be delayed until the end of the current campaign.
He has a release clause worth £83m in his contract, but it has been reported that he could leave for around £50m to £58m next summer.
