Liverpool eyeing transfer for Lyon sensation
Premier League leaders Liverpool are interested in signing Lyon attacker Rayan Cherki at the turn of the year, according to L'Equipe.
The Merseyside giants made just one outfield signing in Federico Chiesa last summer and they are expected to be more active this winter.
A versatile forward is one of the top priorities for manager Arne Slot and reports claim that the club have made contact for Cherki.
The 21-year-old is one of the best young playmakers in the French top-flight and he turned down a lucrative move to Fulham last summer.
Lyon have recently been handed a provisional relegation to Ligue 2 and they desperately need to recoup funds at the turn of the year.
This could force them to part ways with Cherki and Liverpool are aiming to capitalise on the opportunity to land his signature on the cheap.
Fulham were prepared to pay around €15m for him last summer and Lyon president is reportedly expected to demand a much higher price.
