Ruben Amorim wants Man Utd to sign Serie A left-back
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has urged the hierarchy to sign Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu, according to journalist Gerardo Fasano.
The Red Devils currently have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia as their specialist left-backs, but both of them have been injury prone.
The duo have returned to full fitness in recent weeks, but Amorim seems determined to bring in an upgrade at the turn of the year.
Dorgu has been identified as the top target, as per Fasano. United have been advised by Amorim to sign the Danish ace as early as next month.
The 20-year-old started off as a left-back for Lecce, but he has played as a right winger this term. His versatility would suit United.
Amorim could play him in the left and right wing-back roles. Lecce are prepared to sell him if they receive around £25-29 million.
Dorgu has also been linked with Chelsea in the past. He has openly talked about his dream of playing for the Blues in multiple interviews.
