With Man City set to revamp their midfield after departures of Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez , the club are likely to spend big to bring in some of Europe's brightest talent and Samardzic is a name very high up their transfer wish list.

Inter Milan are also in talks with Udinese already regarding a move, and are confident that an agreement for a fee can be reached swiftly.

It is understood that Samardzic may even favour a move to Inter Milan as he is keen on regular first-team football, and the Serb is concerned a transfer to Man City will mean time on the bench.

It is expected that a deal to decide Samardzic's future will be completed in the coming weeks.
