Brighton confirm new club have joined Chelsea in Caicedo race
Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed that a new club have joined Chelsea in the race to sign midfielder Moises Caicedo this summer.
The Blues have identified the Ecuadorian as their prime transfer target for the holding midfield role, but they are yet to convince
Brighton over the fee.
The club recently made an improved offer of £80 million for the 21-year-old, but Brighton are clear that they won't sell him for less than £100m.
Amidst this, the Seagulls have informed the player's representatives that they have received a better proposal from an unnamed Premier League side.
The information will be kept confidential at the moment. Liverpool have been linked with Caicedo in the past, but they are definitely not interested.
Caicedo has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea over a transfer and the onus is on them to make an improved approach for the midfielder.
Judging by Brighton 's stance over the past few months, the Blues are unlikely to land his signature unless they are ready to meet the transfer demands.
