Chelsea agree deal to sign Spanish star for £25m
Chelsea have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, according to The Athletic.
The west London giants currently have Kepa Arrizabalaga as their first-choice keeper, but manager Mauricio Pochettino is not fully convinced over him.
The Blues have now made the decision to sign a competitor in Sanchez, who was Brighton 's first-choice goalkeeper for two-and-a-half years.
Sanchez lost his place to Jason Steele during the back end of last season. He became the third-choice after Bart Verbruggen's arrival this summer.
He was always expected to head for the exit door. Chelsea have made the surprise decision to sign him for an initial £20m plus £5m in add-ons.
The Spain international has already agreed personal terms with the Blues, and a transfer could be finalised in the space of the next 48 hours.
The Blues are also in contact with Brighton to land Moises Caicedo , but there has been no progress due to the difference in valuations.
Brighton are quite clear that they won't sell him for less than £100m while the Blues are reluctant to pay more than £80m for the midfielder.
